Founded by Sr Virginia Barta OSF in 1980, the Christine Center had its humble beginning in a partially renovated barn in Willard, Wisconsin. Sr. Virginia, guided by her Franciscan heritage, envisioned the creation of a welcoming place of retreat and renewal for all seekers, a place that would synthesize Western and Eastern spirituality and embrace all persons, nationalities, cultures, and creeds, as the sign above the silo entrance proclaims, “We are one”. For the last 40 years the Christine Center’s mission and vision of “Spiritual Deepening for Global Transformation” continues to challenge us to foster deep spiritual growth and healing by promoting healthy relationships with God, others, the environment, and all creation, as key elements for our global community. The Center offers warm hospitality with delicious meals and a friendly community. The campus provides a variety of housing accommodations including modern and rustic hermitages, and guest rooms in the Center. A wide range of on-site and on-line programs are offered each week, spiritual guidance, along with many sacred spaces including walking trails, a beautiful chapel, bookstore, and art studio for day trip and overnight visitors. If "stillness calls you" - plan a visit, we'd love to give you a tour and introduce you to the Christine Center community and offerings.

We are proud members of the Clark County community and contribute to the economic growth by expanding our employee group, patronizing our local businesses and supporting the Neillsville Chamber of Commerce, and Clark County Economic Development Organization. The Center brings hundreds of visitors to our County on an annual basis, and we all receive share the impact of increased tourism.
