Helicopter, Military, and Tribute Vehicle Expo

Come to the Highground Veterans Memorial Park near Neillsville on Saturday, May 18th for a unique military appreciation experience. At approximately 9am, weather permitting, a UH-1H Huey helicopter will land at the Highground. This is one of the very few flyable UH-1H helicopters left in the U.S. Another Huey will be available as a static display for visitors to enter and explore. Several vintage military vehicles will be exhibited at the Highground. The Highground is also honored to have the Karl’s Transport semi trailer, which is dedicated to the memory of Ryan Jopek, KIA Iraq and the military tribute tractor trailer from Service 1 join the Expo.

The Helicopter and Military Vehicle Expo will last from 10am – 4pm. The UH-1H Huey will be taking off before 4pm, most likely around 2pm. Hardee’s will have a food tent and visitors will be able to visit the new exhibit of Lao Hmong culture and history in the Learning Center. The Highground will be holding its Big Spring Bake Sale at the Expo, as well.

Weather permitting, The Highground’s Big Maps of the Vietnam War and of The Persian Gulf – Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan will be displayed for veterans to sign.

The public is invited to come to the Highground for this family-friendly, free admission, very unique and exciting event!
